This is a drive in, primitive campground. NO ELECTRICITY. Pit toilets, well, right on the river. It's small, and usually pretty quiet. Each site has a fire ring and a pic knick table, Room for a good size tent or a modest size camper. Sites are nicely spaced and pretty level.

You need a michigan park pass to enter, or you can purchase one with you campsite fee.

My favorite thing about this campground is the smell. It's down in a valley along the river and heavy with old pines. The smell of pine, the river, and a hint of campfire combine to make an incredible aroma that I have never experienced anywhere else. It's just wonderful.

I don't know what heaven is, but I do know a river runs through it.

Amazing, secluded drive in, front country campground, in the shingle mill trail. River close by. Couple of outhouses, water outlets. Fire rings in each site. No electricity.
